The Netherlands has received an official request from Ukraine asking to delegate the right to investigate Malaysian Airlines Boeing crash to Dutch experts and Kyiv expects a response shortly.

“During today’s meeting of the international group of experts on the
investigation at the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure a
representative of the Dutch investigative bureau informed us that, as of
now, the kingdom’s government has not decided on this issue. It is
expected that the decision will be made in the short term,” the press
office of the Ukrainian Ministry of Regional Development, Construction,
Housing and Utility Services said on Tuesday, July 22.

After the issue is resolved, Dutch experts will execute the transfer
of the flight recorders from the plane crashed from Malaysia and will
send them to the British bureau of investigations to decode.

The first stage of field investigation in the Donetsk region has been
completed, experts of the Ukrainian national bureau investigating
aviation incidents said during the meeting. It is planned to hold a
briefing in Kharkiv on the results of the work carried out at the crash
site with their participation later in the day.
