You're reading: Ukraine bans imports of some types of farm machinery

The Ukrainian government has passed a decree banning imports of foreign farming machinery that is already produced inside the country, Yekaterina Samoilyk, a deputy from the Communist Party, told journalists on Wednesday.

“A meeting was initiated about a week ago with machinery builders from the Kherson region and the Ukrainian prime minister, and I submitted a proposal there on banning imports of farming machinery that is already produced in Ukraine. I am very happy that instructions were issued and now a decision has been made to ban imports,” she said.

The decree takes effect from the day it is published, she said.
