Ukraine can be a unifying force for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

"I am confident that Ukraine is able to be a unifying force in the OSCE," he said at the OSCE summit in Astana on Wednesday.

According to the Ukrainian president, thanks to a non-aligned status, Ukraine will be "a fair broker" and will make every effort to strengthen the efficiency of the OSCE in the interests of all members of the organization.

Yanukovych recalled that in Ukraine will chair the OSCE in 2013.

This trust displayed in Ukraine is a serious incentive for the country to continue systemic reforms and to further develop its democratic society, Yanukovych said.
