Ukraine's Representative in the Eurasian Economic Commission Viktor Suslov has stated the need to deepen cooperation between Ukraine and the countries of the Customs Union and he does not rule out that Kyiv could in the future become a full member of this union.

“We need to intensify work with the Eurasian Economic Commission, cooperation with the authorities of the Customs Union states and I am sure that we don’t need to wait for November, when the Association Agreement with the EU is either signed or not, ratified or not,” he said at the international conference “The Slavic-Orthodox values – the basis of Ukraine’s civilizational choice” organized by the Ukrainian Choice public movement on Saturday.

According to him, the Ukrainian side should not wait for the further development of the situation with relations with the European Union but deepen cooperation with the Customs Union.

“Now it is wrong to wait for a moment of truth. I believe that we need to move towards deepening mutually beneficial relations that exist between Ukraine and the Customs Union countries,” he said.

According to Suslov, Kyiv has to join those agreements with the Customs Union that are economically beneficial for the Ukrainian side.
