You're reading: Ukraine has every chance to sign Association Agreement with EU this year, says Kozhara

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara has said that the signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union this year is quite realistic.

“I felt clearly that prospects to sign the Association Agreement in November this year are realistic,” he wrote in his blog on the Web site of the Ukrainska Pravda publication on Monday.

Kozhara came to such a conclusion on the results of his first visit to Brussels on the post of the foreign minister.

“A decline in Ukraine-EU relations we saw last year has stopped. We have crossed the lowest point, I hope forever,” the diplomat said.

According to Kozhara, during meetings with him European politicians insisted that today Ukraine’s future is in its own hands and they numerous times offered their help to the country.

“Europe can see our progress in the reform implementation process and praises it. They also appreciate Ukraine’s policy in the sphere of energy reform,” Kozhara said.

According to the minister, the EU supports Ukraine’s aspiration for close cooperation with its member states in this direction.

As reported, Kozhara visited Brussels on January 30-31, 2013.
