Ukraine health officials expect new flu surge for runoff

A second surge of flu and respiratory infections is looming in Ukraine, heath officials believe. "We believe there will be a second wave. We expect the second surge to strike early in February," Director of Ukraine's center for influenza and acute respiratory infections Oleksandr Hrynevych said at a press conference on Friday.

Nevertheless, the temperature drop can contribute to the spread of influenza and acute respiratory diseases, and the number of people applying for medical assistance will increase.

According to him, a combination of viruses that causing respiratory diseases will remain the same - seasonal and pandemic influenza, as well as acute respiratory infections, but the pandemic H1N1 flu will prevail.

As if the Flue is a political weapon. Had Yushchenko agreed to holding an earlier election Ukraine would not have been forced into holding an election in the midst of winter. Ukraine needs to fix the date for public elections say first Sunday in October. Should an extraordinary election be held then the term of the person elected is shortened or extended as the case may be to the October that fall nearest to the term of office expiry date.

The European Union already has launched an investigation about this Swine-Flu and its vaccines. Pure fear mongering...pharmacy created virus.

No, you are perhaps confortable in your country, but in Ukraine, this flu can really causes a huge number of death. The level of medical cares is very low, there is no modern medical qualification for infectious deseases and people does not trust in their MD's because most of them bought their diplomas. So, bodies are in immunodeficit and a virus like this H1N1 can really be lethal. Don't speak about anything else than help directly the hospitals and not the corrupted Ministery of health. Who knows exactly who were vaccinated with the 300.000 doses given by Swiss ? Everybody knows the first vaccinated were the PM's and the rich oligarch's. There will be nothing else for the people of Ukraine than pray or die. So a second wave would be a big problem.
