The Ukrainian government expects a positive decision from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) board on March 11 regarding the endorsement of a new four-year $17.5-billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Ukraine, as the country has complied with all preconditions agreed upon before, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.

“All preconditions that were envisioned have been implemented. We expect a response from the board on [March] 11,” Yatsenyuk said opening a Ukrainian Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

Yatseniuk said he had discussed financial assistance for Ukraine with U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Jacob Lew on March 3.

“We expect a positive decision from our international partners regarding financial assistance and the allocation of the first IMF tranche for stabilizing the Ukrainian economy,” he said.
