National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz Ukrainy in January 2013 imported 46.715 million cubic meters of natural gas from Germany at a total cost of $18.219 million. 

According to the State Statistics Service, the average price of natural gas imported in January 2013 from Germany was $390 per 1,000 cubic meters (cm).

The average price of Russian natural gas imported to Ukraine in January 2013 was $408.6 per 1,000 cubic meters. Ukraine in January imported 2.448 billion cubic meters of natural gas worth $1.133 billion from Russia.

Previously Naftogaz reported that the payment to Gazprom for gas imported in January 2013 was $992.6 million. Thus, OstChem controlled by Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash in January imported Russian gas to the tune of $7.5 million.

As reported, Ukrtransgaz from November 1, 2012 started accepting natural gas from RWE Supply&Trading GmbH (Germany).

In November 2012, the price of imported gas under the contract with RWE stood at $425 per 1,000 cubic meters, in December – $407.5 per 1,000 cubic meters.

Over the last two months of 2012, the state under the contract with RWE imported 52.702 million cubic meters of natural gas worth $21.966 million.
