You're reading: Ukraine International Airlines won’t confirm having connection with Kolomoisky

Ukraine International Airlines (UIA, Kyiv) does not have legal confirmation of the acquisition of its shares by Ukrainian businessman Ihor Kolomoisky, UIA President Yuriy Miroshnykov said at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday.

“We don’t have any legal proofs that Kolomoisky had bought shares in UIA,” he said.

Miroshnykov said that there were no changes in the regulatory documents and in the structure of the supervisory board.

As reported, in January 2013, Ukraine International Airlines was indignant at the spreading of rumors about changes in the airline’s ownership structure by mass media and other events that allegedly happen in the company. UIA Airline claimed that many media reports appeared recently contain a large amount of fabricated and frankly untrue information about the airline, its ownership structure, changes in the structure and other events that allegedly happened in UIA

Ukraine International Airlines was founded in 1992. Its fleet consists of 21 medium-ranged Boeing 737. The airlines operates flights to 40 capitals and cities of Europe, Asia, Africa, and the CIS. It also services connecting flights with routes of its international partners in more than 3,000 cities around the globe. Its main airport is Kyiv’s Boryspil International Airport.

According to the State Commission for Securities and the Stock Market, Ontobet Promotions Limited as of the end of the third quarter of 2012 owned a 25.83% stake in the airlines, while 74.16% of UIA’s shares were held by Kyiv-based Capital Investment Project LLC belonging to Investment Projects Management LLC whose owner is Ontobet Promotions Limited (since June 2012).
