Ukraine and Mexico will develop space cooperation.

The State Space Agency of Ukraine (SSA) told Interfax-Ukraine that on August 27 a delegation from the Mexican Space Agency will visit Ukraine to sign a memorandum of understanding with SSA, which will be the first step of the countries towards the forming a legal basis for promising cooperation.

The Mexican delegation is also planning to visit Dnipropetrovsk-based Pivdenne Design Bureau.

Later on, the sides will draw up an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the sphere of exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.

Creation of rocket and space equipment and infrastructure, the sphere of remote exploration of the Earth, launch services, space science, and training of experts are among the most promising spheres of cooperation between Ukraine and Mexico.

The Mexican Space Agency was set up in April 2010. The government of Mexico has announced its intention to build its own missile complex on the Yucatan Peninsula.
