Ukraine is not considering the possibility of disconnecting from the gas supply the territories in the east of the country that it does not control, Vice Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman has said.

“No, there have not been initiatives regarding gas disconnection. I think there is no such a question now,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv after the next meeting of the anti-crisis energy headquarters.

Earlier, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuriy Prodan said that the areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, controlled by illegal armed groups, to get heat and gas in the autumn-winter period should pay for consumed energy. According to him, otherwise the energy supply to them may be limited.
