Ukraine does not plan to cooperate with Russia in constructing power units 3 and 4 of the Khmelnytsky Nuclear Power Plant, says Yuriy Nedashkovsky, the president of Energoatom, the national operator of the Ukrainian nuclear power plants.

“We aren’t considering the Russian option at all,” Nedashkovsky told journalists on Aug. 26 when asked whether Russia could be involved in the completion of these power plants.

Ukraine has adopted and endorsed numerous legislative acts and regulations for the project, but its implementation has still not started, he said.

“This issue [the implementation of the project together with Russia] was called into question even in peacetime, not to mention in the current situation,” Nedashkovsky said.
