You're reading: Ukraine observes ceasefire, no attacks planned – Lysenko

The Ukrainian military is not planning any attacks in the east of the country and has strictly observed the ceasefire, anti-terrorist operation spokesman Andriy Lysenko has said.

“The Ukrainian side implemented the Minsk agreements in an exemplary manner, in particular, the first clause that foresees a ceasefire,” he told Interfax-Ukraine on Dec. 25.

According to Lysenko, at the same time, the militants violate the agreements almost every day by carrying out provocative attacks.

While commenting on statements by the leaders of terrorist organizations regarding a possible attack by Ukrainian servicemen, Lysenko said: “These statements are untrue. We are not planning any offensive action.”

He said that today the main task of the Ukrainian side was the delivery of humanitarian aid to residents of areas controlled by militants.
