You're reading: Ukraine plans to sign three bilateral agreements with UAE

Ukraine is planning to sign three interstate bilateral agreements on legal assistance in civil and criminal cases with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Justice Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Lavrynovych has said.

“The agreements are to be signed during the official visit of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to the UAE and Qatar on November 25-28, 2012,” the ministry’s press service said.

According to the minister, during the visit it is planned to sign agreements between Ukraine and the UAE on mutual legal assistance in civil and commercial matters, extradition and mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.

The purpose of the documents is to establish legal basis for effective cooperation between the competent authorities of both countries in these fields.

According to Lavrynovych, the UAE will be the first country in the Persian Gulf, with which Ukraine will sign bilateral agreements on legal assistance in civil and criminal cases.
