Events on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Volyn tragedy have been held in Ukraine's Volyn region and in the territory of Poland with the assistance of the Ukrainian and Polish sides.

According to an Interfax-Ukraine reporter, two prayer services were conducted at the cemeteries in the Village of Pavlivka (Volyn Oblast) and in former Ukrainian village Sahryn in the territory of Poland. Residents of both villages became victims of the Ukrainian-Polish conflict in 1943-1944.

The events were organized at the initiative of Lesia Ukrainka East European National University (Lutsk) and Ukrainian Catholic University (Lviv) with the assistance of the Polish-Ukrainian Forum, the Jacek Kuron Educational Foundation (Poland), the Sheptytsky Family Foundation (Lviv) and the Association of Ukrainians in Poland.
