Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski have agreed to hold a meeting of the advisory committee at the level of deputy heads of administrations to intensify bilateral relations at the highest level, the press service of the Ukrainian president has reported.

Poroshenko and Komorowski held a telephone conversation on Oct. 27.

Komorowski invited Poroshenko to visit Poland this year. The Ukrainian president thanked him for the invitation and expressed hope that the Polish parliament would soon ratify the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.

Poroshenko, in turn, invited his Polish counterpart to pay a state visit to Ukraine.

Komorowski congratulated Poroshenko and the people of Ukraine on holding free and transparent elections, which, despite the difficult conditions, confirmed Ukraine’s commitment to democratic standards.

“Komorowski also noted that the results of these elections were opening before Ukraine the prospect of deep reforms, which Poland is ready to support in every way,” reads the report.

Poroshenko thanked Komorowski for a high assessment of the elections: “I am delighted that the conclusions of the international community reaffirmed the democratic choice of the Ukrainian people.”

He also said that a new parliamentary majority would ensure reform and European integration of the country
