UEFA President Michel Platini believes that each country hosting the Euro 2012 European Football Championship is preparing for the tournament taking into account its national peculiarities.

"All cities are different. I think that Ukraine will organize Euro 2012 in Ukrainian way, and Poland in Polish way… The diversity will only make the celebration more colorful, as our slogan reads: "Creating History Together". One thing I know for certain: if all the stadiums are completed, they will all be beautiful," he said on Monday at a briefing in Donetsk, FC Shakhtar’s press service reported.

Platini stressed the importance of building stadiums at the expense of private funds.

"If for instance we want to organize a concert by Shakira or any other singer, it will make it much more difficult if the stadium is owned by government," he said.

The UEFA president also said that after a meeting on the preparation of Donetsk for Euro 2012, he discussed with the president of Donetsk FC Shakhtar, Rinat Akhmetov, and the president of the Football Federation of Ukraine, Hryhoriy Surkis, the issue of refereeing in Ukrainian football.
