BRUSSELS - Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn has said that Ukraine had presented evidence of a shortage of gas supply during talks with the Vice-President of the European Commission Maros Sefcovic and Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak in Brussels on March 2.

“Naftogaz has presented the materials confirming that during a certain period Russia hasn’t fulfilled the orders of Ukrtransgaz. Russia, of course, fails to recognize them, therefore it’s hard to say that we agreed on something,” Demchyshyn said.

In addition, Demchyshyn said that the European Commission had been supportive of Ukraine’s position.

According to him, it’s very important for Kyiv that Russia guarantees this situation doesn’t happen again.

However, he said no such guarantees were given.
