You're reading: Ukraine reaches second round of EuroBasket for first time in history

Ukraine's national basketball team has successfully completed the first round of the European Basketball Championship for the first time in its history. 

After beating Britain 87-68 on Monday, Ukrainian basketball players secured a spot in the second round of EuroBasket 2013 in Slovenia.

During the first group stage Mike Fratello’s side defeated Belgium, Israel, Germany and Britain and lost in a bitter struggle to European vice-champions France.

In the second round, Ukraine will face Latvia on Sept. 11, Serbia on Sept.13 and Lithuania on Sept.15.
