You're reading: Ukraine ready to join discussion of creating ‘grain twenty’, says Agricultural Ministry

Ukraine is intending to join in the discussion over creating an association of the world's largest grain producers, "the grain twenty," as initiated by France.

Agricultural Policy and Food Minister of Ukraine Mykola Prysiazhniuk said this at a meeting with Director of the Agribusiness Department of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Gilles Mettetal.

“This organization [the grain twenty] should include the world’s largest grain producers. According to Prysiazhniuk, Ukraine is preparing to join in this initiative,” reads a statement

The press release states that Prysiazhniuk previously discussed the issue of creating “the grain twenty” with Agriculture and Food Minister of France Stephane Le Foll.

According to the report, Prysiazhniuk and Gilles Mettetal agreed to continue cooperation in the production of grains, poultry and engineering. In addition, the parties discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects in sugar refining, agricultural leasing and dairy farming.
