The Ukrainian Interior Ministry has announced that security service officers' positions in the area of the anti-terrorist operation in southeastern Ukraine came under fire last night and two cars belonging to the attackers were destroyed by return fire.

“The 6th checkpoint of anti-terrorist operation units located within the city was attacked last night. 2 cars used by the attackers were destroyed by a strike from a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher,” the ministry said on its Web site on May 8.

The ministry, however, did not say in which part of Donetsk or Luhansk region the attacked checkpoint is located.

The ministry also warned that its soldiers would be given a “shoot to kill” order in the event of any attack on the positions held by Ukraine’s security forces.
