Ukraine as of June 24 had threshed 450,000 tonnes of grain from 150,000 hectares, the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry has reported.

According to the ministry, currently winter barley is being harvested in Crimea, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Zakarpattia regions.

Its average yield is 29.4 centners per hectare against 25.6 centners per hectare on the same date last year.

Earlier the ministry forecast that Ukraine this year would harvest 45 million tonnes of grain against 39.3 million tonnes in 2010.
