Ukraine will begin withdrawing weapons under 100mm caliber from the Donetsk region in 15 days, Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff spokesman Vladyslav Selezniov wrote on his Facebook page on Oct. 3.

“My dear friends! Let me remind you that, in accordance with the Minsk agreements, the withdrawal of weapons under 100mm caliber is beginning in the Luhansk region. The withdrawal of weapons in the Donetsk region will start in 15 days,” he said.

Eduard Basurin of the Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic said earlier on Saturday that the withdrawal of light weapons from the contact line in the DPR would begin after Oct. 18.

The withdrawal of weapons under 100mm caliber started in the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic on Oct. 3.

The Luhansk information center has reported that more than 50 tanks were removed to a distance of 15 kilometers from the frontline. Members of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe mission are monitoring this process, Luhansk said.
