You're reading: Ukraine to increase minimum household electricity tariff by 19 percent from April, medium tariff 50 percent, maximum tariff 5 percent

The National Commission of Ukraine for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) will from April 1, 2015 increase the minimum tariff for household electricity by 19 percent or 5.8 kopecks per kilowatt-hour (kWh), to 36.60 kopecks per kWh.

An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported that the tariff will be in effect for consumption of up to 100 kWh.

According to the commission’s plans, the tariff for the second consumption block (from 100 kilowatts to 600 kilowatts a month) will be increased by 50 percent, from 21.10 kopecks to 63 kopecks per kWh.

The tariff for the third consumption block (over 600 kWh a month) will be increased by 5 percent or 6.7 kopecks, to 140.70 kopecks per kWh.
