You're reading: Ukraine to inject extra $63.4 million in Shelter fund by 2017

Ukraine will inject an additional $63.4 million in the Chornobyl fund Shelter by 2017, annual contributions will be determined in consultation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The corresponding decision is stipulated in government decree No. 559 of Oct. 22, 2014.

Previously the final date of Ukraine’s contributing to the Shelter fund was the year of 2014.

According to decree No. 559, Ukraine’s total contribution to the Shelter fund will be $167.563 million (previously the payment was estimated at $104.163 million).

As of the end of 2013, Ukraine had actually injected $69.662 million in the project.

As reported, in May the parliament of Ukraine agreed on changes to the framework agreement with the EBRD on the activities of the Chornobyl Shelter Fund, according to which the country is increasing its contribution to the fund by $63.4 million, to $167.563 million.
