You're reading: Ukraine ups Russian gas transit 6.7% after planned Nord Stream suspension

Daily transit of Russian natural gas through Ukraine on April 16 was up by 17.3 million cubic meters (6.7%) over April 15, to 258.4 million cu m, the press service of Ukrtransgaz has said.

"The increase in transit to European consumers is being carried out in accordance with Gazprom requests in the direction of Uzhgorod," the statement said.

The Russian-German Nord Stream marine gas pipeline was suspended for two weeks on April 15 for scheduled work.
