The Military Cabinet of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council on Aug. 4 will discuss a proposal to set up a subgroup on border issues as part of the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine, according to the press office for Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

“The Military Cabinet of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council is also planning to discuss humanitarian and economic issues, in particular, the creation of a Trilateral Contact Group subgroup on the border issue, which should launch ‘the process of implementation of the Minsk Agreements’ clause on regaining control over the uncontrolled section of the Ukrainian-Russian border and withdrawal of foreign troops from Ukraine,” the president’s press office said on Aug. 4.

Kyiv repeatedly raised the issue of creating the subgroup on border issues.
