Judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine are being questioned as witnesses as part of the criminal case on the usurpation of power, none of them has been charged, First Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Sevruk has said.

“No one has been presented with suspicion in these proceedings, they have been interrogated as witnesses, that is why they continue performing their duties” Sevruk said at a briefing in Kyiv on July 29 adding that at present the case was handled by the Main Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

“They can be removed [from their offices] only when one of them is informed of suspicion,” he added.

According to Sevruk, the Main Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office is in charge of the inquiry into this case.
