You're reading: Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry: OSCE military observers still cannot enter Crimea

A mission of up to 40 OSCE military observers is already at the entrance to Crimea, but it still cannot get on the peninsula, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has told Interfax-Ukraine.

 “They are now at the entrance to Crimea. They have been stopped by
men in uniform and negotiations are now continuing,” Foreign Ministry
spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis said on Thursday.

As reported, an OSCE verification mission of 40 observers from 21 OSCE countries is in Ukraine from March 5 to March 12.

The program of their stay includes visits to military facilities of
the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea.
