The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed that separatist militants in Donbas are preparing groups to go to Syria.
“It’s true. We received information from various sources. These are the data from communications interception, human intelligence and air reconnaissance. With regards to the formation of units from among the militants who previously performed the tasks in eastern Ukraine and now are forming volunteer battalions for carrying out combat missions in Syria, this information is true,” spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vladyslav Selezniov said on Channel 5 on Oct. 22.
