The command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has decided to pull out the personnel of a volunteer battalion of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) from the line of contact in Pisky, Donetsk region.

“The presence on the frontline of the OUN volunteer battalion, which does not officially belong to the armed forces, has been preventing Ukraine from fully implementing the Minsk agreements,” the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said in a statement on its website on April 9.

The decision was made in order “to protect the lives and health of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ personnel and unconditionally implement the Minsk agreements,” it said.

The OUN battalion’s members have been invited to officially join the Ukrainian armed forces, the Defense Ministry said.
