Two more Ukrainian military servicemen, who were injured near Volnovakha (Donetsk region) on May 22, died in the early hours of Friday morning, said Kostiantyn Zinkevych, a military serviceman from the 51st separate mechanized brigade, who is a native of the town of Volodymyr-Volynsky.

“There were five in a hospital in Volnovakha, three are now left … Another seven injured people are in a hospital in Donetsk (soldiers from Volodymyr-Volynsky). Today a helicopter should fly them from these places either to Kharkiv, or to Dnipropetrovsk, or to Kyiv… There is security outside the wards but the situation is such that the injured should be moved away because of the risk of being captured by separatists, as they already claimed,” Zinkevych said on Vesti, a Ukrainian radio station, on Friday.

There has been no official confirmation of the information about the soldiers’ death.

A day earlier the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said that military servicemen were killed and injured in an explosion near Volnovakha organized by separatists in the early hours of May 22. Ukraine’s Acting President and Verkhovna Rada Chairman Oleksandr Turchynov said on the same day that 13 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed in a fight near Volnovakha. Later Ukraine’s First Deputy Health Minister Ruslan Saliutin said that 16 soldiers had been killed.
