You're reading: Ukrainian army loses 11 soldiers in past 24 hours

Eleven soldiers were killed and 31 were wounded in the anti-terrorist operation zone in eastern Ukraine in the past 24 hours, Andriy Lysenko, spokesman of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), said at a briefing in Kyiv on July 31.

Lysenko also said three border guards were killed and 11 were wounded
in a recent attack in the area of the village of Vasylivka, Donetsk
region. “Last night, Russian mercenaries opened fire on border guards in
the area of the village of Vasylivka. Three border guards were killed
and 11 were wounded,” he said.

Army units killed fifty militants and two snipers in a reconnaissance
operation in the area of the village of Mospyne, Donetsk region, on
July 30. A militants’ ambush was eliminated during the cleansing of an
area in the Donetsk region. Four militants were killed, Lysenko said.
