You're reading: Ukrainian banks’ anti-cybercrime website hacked

It took just three days for hackers to break into the new online security project Anti-Cybercrime, launched by the Independent Association of Banks of Ukraine (IABU).

Hackers slightly modified the main page of the web site www.anticyber.com.ua
and changed all the “useful links” to jump to an image from the American horror classic
“The Exorcist.”

According to Watcher, most likely the hacking came from the group SES TEAM Hackers World (www.system-electron-team.hol.es),
as its name was listed on the first line of the site’s “useful links.”

IABU is a banking association founded by 57 Ukrainian banks on Nov. 4, 2011.
According to the Anti-Cybercrime website, the project’s aim is to “enhance
awareness among bank customers about the safe handling of financial
information.”

Banks included in the IABU did not return Kyiv Post requests for comment.
