An interdepartmental group of Ukrainian border guards and customs officers has exercised visual monitoring of a new Russian humanitarian convoy, a source in the Ukrainian authorities told on Oct. 31.

“The Ukrainian side has responded to the Russian proposal to participate in the humanitarian cargo clearance. As representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) were not involved in that process, the Ukrainian side exercised visual monitoring of the vehicles and the cargo,” he said.

He said the interdepartmental group watched the convoy cross the Russian Donetsk and Kurgan checkpoints at about 7 a.m. local time (8 a.m. Moscow time). The Ukrainian side did not issue any documents.
