You're reading: Ukrainian border guards set up three checkpoints at entrance to Crimea

 The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has set up three checkpoints and has launched patrols along the administrative border with the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

“The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has stepped up control
over Crimea-bound traffic. In particular, three checkpoints have been
deployed and border patrols have been launched on the administrative
border with Crimea,” a border guard service spokesman told
Interfax-Ukraine.

Soldiers of the State Border Guard Service’s mobile units, policemen
and Interior Troops soldiers are manning these checkpoints, he said.

Border guards continue to serve at the Crimea ferry terminal and the Simferopol airport, he added.
