Canadian military servicemen will train Ukrainian servicemen for two years starting in the fall, Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak said.

‘The training will start as early as this coming fall and will last for two years. The training will help Ukrainian military servicemen gain new knowledge in line with NATO standards and the Canadian instructors borrow Ukrainian experience gained during the military actions in the ATO (AntiTerrorist Operation) area,’ the Ukrainian Defense Ministry press service quoted Poltorak as saying while inspecting the Yavoriv training range in the Lviv region together with Canadian National Defense Minister Jason Kenney.

The parties discussed details of the training. A draft technical agreement between the Ukrainian Defense Ministry and the Canadian Department of National Defense regarding the training of Ukrainian servicemen is being drawn up.

Kenney has been visiting Ukraine since June 25.
