The situation in the anti-terrorist operation area remains tense but Ukrainian forces maintain positions taken, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry posted a statement on its Web site on Wednesday, July 16.
“As of 9 a.m. on July 16, the situation in the area of holding the
counter-terrorism operation remains tense. It is most difficult and
escalated in the cities of Donetsk, Luhansk, Lysychansk, Antrasyt,
Severodonetsk and Krasnodon, where rebels set up posts in administrative
buildings seized,” the Defense Ministry said.
The situation remains difficult at the area controlled by Ukrainian
servicemen but thanks to efforts of relevant state agencies and
services, it has a tendency to improve, the statement said.
Ukrainian forces continue to maintain the positions taken, the Defense Ministry said.
