Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn has claimed that he is facing resistance from ministry controlled departments, enterprises and their employees, but promised to take action by reshuffling staff.

“The situation is really complicated, because 300 people work at the
ministry… All organizations are connected by some interests that’s why the staff
have absorbed these interests, and this [has led to] the sabotage of documents,
which I initiate, sometimes they’re hindered, sometimes lost,” he said at a
press conference in Kyiv on Dec. 31.

“These are rather complicated processes, which you have to combat [the
sabotage], that’s why I will have an opportunity to fulfill my tasks by hiring a
new team,” the minister added.
