You're reading: Ukrainian Foreign Ministry begins preparations for ratification of agreement with EU

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry is preparing a package of documents necessary for the ratification of the Association Agreement with the European Union, the director of the EU department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Vsevolod Chentsov, has said.

“We are now preparing a package of documents that are necessary for
ratification. There will be no delay on our part,” he said at a press
conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Chentsov said that immediately after the signing of the Association
Agreement the Foreign Ministry intends to submit relevant documents for
consideration by the ministries and agencies and then by parliament.

Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Ukleba, in turn, noted that
his country would ratify the Association Agreement with the EU in July
this year.

Moldovan Ambassador to Ukraine Ion Stavila said that his country’s
parliament plans to consider the ratification of the EU-Moldova
Association Agreement by July 4.

The signing of the full text of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement
is planned for June 27. Ukraine signed the political part of the
agreement with the EU on March 21, 2014.
