The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has instructed the Ukrainian Embassy in London to investigate the situation with mistakes made in the data about the members of the Ukrainian team on the Web site of the London Olympics.
"We have instructed our embassy in London to correct this situation and work to ensure that similar mistakes that appeared on such a respectful Web site, for unknown reasons, are not made in future," Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Thursday, July 26.
He noted that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry was surprised at erroneous information that appeared on the Web site of the London Olympics.
On July 15, media reports said that the biographical data of some Russian athletes posted on the Web site of the 2012 Olympics, who were born in Ukraine, next to the name of the city or region of birth, indicated that this is in Russia.
The headquarters of Ukraine's Olympic delegation has sent an official request to the organizing committee of the XXX Summer Olympics Games to urgently amend these mistakes in biographical data.
