You're reading: Ukrainian Foreign Ministry: OSCE mission has proof of ceasefire regime breach by militants

The OSCE special monitoring mission working in the eastern part of Ukraine has registered numerous violations of the ceasefire regime committed by the militants, in particular, an OSCE car hit by shell fragments, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis said.

‘The report clearly states that representatives of the terrorist organizations were the first to open fire, since the Ukrainian checkpoint near the village of Maloorlivka [Donetsk region] was shelled, [and] members of the OSCE observation mission were close by,’ he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry does not rule out that the shelling of the Ukrainian troops was designed to force a response from Ukrainian forces, since it had already been reported that the OSCE mission would soon be in the area.
