You're reading: Ukrainian gas stocks fall below 12 billion cubic meters

Gas stocks in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities decreased by 28.4 percent or 4.762 billion cubic meters between Oct. 20, when the heating season got under way, and Dec. 24, gas pipeline operator Ukrtransgaz said.

The gas storage facilities contained 16.75 billion cubic meters of gas on Oct. 20, falling to 11.988 billion cubic meters on Dec. 24.

Ukraine started withdrawing gas from its underground storage facilities on Oct. 20, taking around 10 million cubic meters of gas out that day.

Ukrtransgaz has 12 gas storage facilities with total capacity of 31 billion cubic meters at its disposal.
