Ukrainian Health Minister Oleh Musiy has said that only one of the nine medical institutions is operating in Sloviansk, Donetsk region.

“Medicine in Sloviansk has been almost completely destroyed, as only one of the nine institutions is operating. Doctors, saving their lives, had to leave the town,” he said live on Channel 5 late on Tuesday, July 8.

At the same time, he expressed hope that the work of medical institutions would be restored soon.

“I think that after the area is cleaned of potential threats in the form of mines, then life will return and medicine will again work in these institutions,” he said.

He also said that a service for psychological assistance to soldiers who are being treated in hospitals was being run by the Health Ministry.
