How curious that, contrary to the claims of the western diaspora, Ukrainian was allowed to thrive in the cultural sphere in the days of the USSR. Stupka's first part was in White Bird with Black Mark - a film released in 1970 IN THE USSR in UKRAINIAN! Stupka was also awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR!
