The Ukrainian nuclear energy is fully ready to the autumn-winter period of 2014-2015, President of National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom Yuriy Nedashkovsky has said.

“Today we could say that the nuclear energy sector is ready to operate in the autumn-winter period of 2014-2015. In the volumes of fresh nuclear fuel and in the volume of space for waste nuclear fuel we not only pass the winter period with confidence, but we also have enough stocks for making alternative decisions if any force majeure circumstances with suppliers appear,” he said at a cabinet meeting in Kyiv on Oct. 22.

Nedashkovsky said that the power generation target of Energoatom was fulfilled by 102.2 percent, the company had generated 69.1 billion kilowatt-hours per hour as of Oct. 22, 2014.
