A bill on changes to the Ukrainian Constitution, concerning decentralization, could be put to a vote in parliament in two weeks, Verkhovna Rada speaker Volodymyr Groysman said.

“The president proposed to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on constitutional changes concerning decentralization. Now the matter is up to deputies. In accordance with procedure, a bill can be put to a vote in two weeks after being submitted,” he wrote on his Facebook page on July 2.

“The deputies will hold discussions on the subject as early as next week. I hope we will reach an understanding and approve the bill by an overwhelming majority of votes, and show to the Ukrainian people that we are ready to conduct real European reforms in deeds, not words,” Hroisman said.

It was reported earlier that President Petro Poroshenko had submitted a bill on constitutional changes concerning power decentralization.
