Ukrainian Security Service chief Valentyn Nalyvaichenko has reported to President Petro Poroshenko that 146 military servicemen captured by the miltants in eastern Ukraine have been freed.

“The Security Service chief reported the release of 146 Ukrainians to the president,” presidential press secretary Sviatoslav Tseholko told Interfax.

Nalyvaichenko said also that four other Ukrainians are to be freed on Saturday.

The Security Service earlier confirmed a preliminary agreement on swapping 225 captured militants from the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics for 150 Ukrainian servicemen.

It was reported later that 222 militants had been swapped for 150 Ukrainian government troops on a neutral territory in the presence of Viktor Medvedchuk representing Kyiv and Volodymyr Kononov from the Donetsk People’s Republic.
