Moscow - The "self-defense forces" of Sloviansk claim that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have encircled the city and refuse to allow women and children to leave it.

“All roads leading in and out of the city have been sealed off. No one, including women and children, are able to leave the city. There can be shortages of food and drinking water,” a Sloviansk “self-defense forces” spokesman told Interfax.

Gunfire can be heard in the city from time to time, he added.

“No large-scale actions, similar to those seen this morning, are taking place now, but gunfire can still be heard in different parts of the city,” he said.
