MOSCOW - Russia will extend the duration of stay for Ukrainian citizens on Russian territory, including those of draft age, for humanitarian reasons, the Federal Migration Service (FMS) press service told Interfax on Jan. 28.

“To extend the duration of their legal stay in Russia, Ukrainian citizens would need to apply to a FMS office at the place of their temporary stay before the expiration of 90 days from the moment of their entry into Russian territory. The duration of a temporary stay will be extended repeatedly for 90-day periods,” it said.

This rule would apply to all Ukrainian citizens regardless of whether they have been granted refugee status or temporary asylum, it said.

The duration of a temporary stay in Russia would be extended for Ukrainian citizens until Aug. 1, 2015, it said.
